Configure Database Backup

If your website is running Wordpress/Joomla/Drupal, you dont need to configure database credentials. You can confirm by visiting configure database backup. Currenlty BountySite supports MySQL database backup.

To configure database backup go to Sidemenu > Manage site and backup > DB Backup Add database

Direct MySQL Backup

Remote MySQL Host

Before configuring Direct MySQL backup, you have to ensure that the backup storage node is authorized to backup data. To authorize storage node, you will have to add IP of storage node in Remote MySQL. If you are using CPanel, here is the process.

Login to your CPanel account and under Databases section click on Remote MySQL.

Direct MySQL backup

  • MySQL Hostname: This is by default set to the FTP hostname. Note that mysql hostname is same for multiple database backups. Changing MySQL hostname will overwrite the existing value.
  • Database Name: Enter the name of the database to be backed up
  • Mysql login user name: Enter Mysql user name
  • Mysql user password: Enter Mysql password

Click on Verify DB Details to confirm if the credentials are valid.

MySQL Backup over SSH tunnel

It is mandatory that the backup FTP protocol for website is set to FTPS for MySQL over SSH tunnel to work. Otherwise direct MySQL backup is chosen.

  • Database Name: Enter the name of the database to be backed up
  • Mysql login user name: Enter Mysql user name
  • Mysql user password: Enter Mysql password

Click on Verify DB Details to confirm if the credentials are valid.

MySQL over PHPS

It is mandatory that the website is available on HTTPS.

  • Database Name: Enter the name of the database to be backed up
  • Mysql login user name: Enter Mysql user name
  • Mysql user password: Enter Mysql password
  • Mysql over PHPS: If you want to configure MySQL over PHPS, then click on Download button to download PHP script. Upload the script into your hosting server, under a newly created directory under document root(web files). Enter the URI of the PHP script. For example, if the newly created directory is newlycreatedfolderforbkp and the php script name is 98A8F1B.php, then the URI is /newlycreatedfolderforbkp/98A8F1B.php

Click on Verify DB Details to confirm if the credentials are valid.
